Galacta Knight is my favourite Kirby character. They’re “the greatest warrior in the galaxy”, from ancient times. They were sealed away, and have been summoned in several games to battle.
Their first appearance was in Super Star Ultra, where they were the final boss of Meta Knightmare Ultra mode. Since then, they’ve appeared in several games, although none of their appearances are canon :(
From what we know of them, they were one of the “Four Heroes of Yore”, who defeated and sealed away Void Termina. However, eventually, Galacta Knight was sealed away ”for fear his power was too great”.
Since we don’t know much about them, there are a bunch of fan interpretations that can be quite different from one another! There are different headcanons and theories regarding their personality, why exactly they were sealed away, and their life before their imprisonment. I think it’s super cool that all these interpretations can exist!
As far as I know, Galacta Knight's gender hasn't been confirmed, although the English translation refers to them with he/him pronouns. I don't tend to stick with one particular headcanon for them (which is also why I'm using they/them on this site). I like seeing people's interpretations of them!They're claustrophobic. I think that if someone was trapped in a crystal for however many years, completely unable to move, then being in small, cramped spaces would not be a fun experience for them...They have horns! There's different interpretations on whether the horns in their design are part of their mask or not. Personally, I'm firmly on the side of "no" because I think its cooler.On the topic of their design, it's changed a little over time. Their eyes have changed from red to pink, and their wings are generally presented as white rather than purple. In my headcanon/design, they have red eyes with the mask and pink eyes without (similar to how pre-Robobot Meta Knight designs give him yellow eyes with the mask and white without) and their wings are a light purple/lilac colour. I also sometimes give them gold details on their armour, though not to the extent of their Aeon Hero design.
